J. Paul Getty Museum - Los Angeles, CA

The J. Paul Getty Museum is a wonderful blend of architecture and exhibitions in one place.  Located in Los Angeles, CA, this museum offers a wide range of art and traveling exhibits.  The buildings themselves are beautiful.  1.2 million square feet of Travertine from Bagni di Tivoli, Italy, was used to build the museum.

Some of the buildings have a distinct, new age feel that contrast the buildings built from the stones imported from Italy.  The edges are typically curved, but are sectioned off in cubes to retain the appearance of being built by independent stones.

The layout of the museum provides visitors a wide variety of views of the buildings.  It's easy to find doors that lead to balconies overlooking the courtyard or gardens.

The LA skyline can be seen from the Getty.  The numerous lights emitting from LA give the city an endless feel.

This large section built from Travertine provides and an ancient feel to the museums.

This view overlooks the garden which is accessible to the public.  The amount and care of gardening is phenomenal.
