SDCC '07 Exhibits

Here you will find various pictures of the exhibition hall.  Also included are images taken from all over the convention center.  Most random things, such as costumes and celebrity appearances are included here too.

We'll start off with some Star Wars action since this was the 30th anniversary of SW.  The booth was busy as always and they had some interesting things on display.

One of the cool displays were various Darth Vader helmets decorated by different artists.  It ranged from Mardi Gras to anti-Bush/Cheney.  It was funny seeing the different designs people came up with.  I never imagined Vader to be so adventurous in his style...

One of the best set of Trooper armor at the show.  Sweet battle damage.

This life-size Jabba drew huge crowds that clogged the narrow hallways.  Some costumed people showed up towards the end of the show on Sunday.

Most people who dress up look funny, but this was definitely the best Leia all weekend.

Sideshow showed off their prototype 1:1 scale C-3PO and R2-D2 which you can purchase.  They looked outstanding.  They're selling on their website for about 5600 bucks each.

1:1 scale T-800.  Now this is totally badass.

The show wouldn't be complete if it weren't for the Ugly Dolls.  I ended up coming here everyday for some reason.

The Ugly Doll exclusives were Ice Lodge versions of your favorite uglies.  Ice Bat and the whole gang ended up holding hands, resulting in everyone turning into Ice.

David Horvath, one of the creators, was present on Saturday to sign for fans.  He also drew pictures for those who wanted one.  Very nice guy and glad I got to meet him.

Roaming the halls were Wedgehead and Ox.  They were very active but I didn't catch them dancing this time.  I think Ox was spanking the girl on the left while Wedgehead looked on with jealousy.

I am a huge Battlestar Galactica fan and finding Aaron Douglas (Chief Tyrol) signing at a booth was a pleasant surprise.  This was probably one of my favorite moments.  I found him towards the end of the show and I came home with a signed prototype figure.  Best surprise ever!

A shot of the Toynami booth.  The exhibition hall was packed and every booth was gorgeous.

I was wandering around with my brother and we noticed a small crowd near the autograph booth.  Apparently The Rock was visiting a friend who was signing and decided to say hi.  He left and walked right by me.

My favorite video game company!  I noticed a huge increase in video game presence this time around at SDCC.  It is truly becoming a popular arts convention.  Square had tons of stuff on display.  I posted some pics under the toys section.

Of course, every major motion picture company had a booth.  Here's a shot of Sony's.  They had some cool posters and were advertising some upcoming movies.

This badass ride was displayed to promote Resident Evil 3.  I don't know if this bike will be in the movie, but it was some awesome stuff.  Best looking BMW bike I've seen (BMW bikes are ugly...)

SSHHHIIIIIINNNNN!!!!  This dirty guy was there.  Actually, there was someone dressed up as him and acted just like him.  If you don't know who this is, look him up.  Those crazy Japanese....

Sci-Fi has the same booth every year.  It's just a very weird shape with some computers and that is it.  Sci-Fi people randomly show up and hand out stuff.  Nice place to hang out at.

Another view of the booth.  I believe Dane Cook and Jessica Alba were here at one point signing autographs.  Crowd was way too big to even get a look.

Very nice of this robot to show up and entertain folks at the Sci-Fi booth.  This guy had a remote that he pointed around.  The robot would swivel and turn to that direction.

Most likely the last time we'll see a POTC booth.  Unless they come out with more...  The booth was beautiful.  There was a huge model of the Black Pearl on top.

Most of the booth was inside the rock and Black Pearl.  Inside were lots of concept art, photographs, and authentic costumes worn in the films.  Here's a shot of Sparrow's.

More costumes from POTC.  The one on the right is obviously Barbossa's.  ARRRRR!!!!

The Mach 5 for the upcoming Speed Racer movie.  This looked freaking awesome!  I think it was a concept because it definitely wasn't a drivable car.

Spongebob!!  Lego always has cool stuff.  You can build anything with legos.

This Millennium Falcon is actually for sale.  If you look in the cockpit, you'll see a lego Han and Chewie.  Yes, its that big of a ship!!!  I want this soooo bad.  One of the best legos ever.

This massive Munny was on display at Kid Robot.  There was chalk for people to use on him.  Its neat because the convention has so many guest artists that they walk around and draw stuff everywhere.

Here's a way to celebrate the upcoming Indiana Jones film.  Later in the week they announced a new line of Indiana figures.

This year's Hot Wheels car was the classic Batmobile.

The Golden Compass had a booth with costumes and a big photo booth.  This neat Polar bear was outside.

The lone representative for LOTR.  Neat costume.  I can't imagine walking around in that at the convention.

I haven't seen Planet Terror/Death Proof, but I know where she's from.  This isn't the actress, but someone who looks her and actually has a gun for a leg (at least for the show).  She managed to draw so many people that the hallway was clogged like crazy whenever she was there.

Mega Man?  I have no idea.  Neat costume, freaky face.  Anime faces belong on paper and TV.

Corgi had lots of cool stuff from Master Replica's on display.  Here are the upcoming Muppets following the Kermit that was released.  They are fully poseable and are replicas of the original ones.  After a few days, people were putting them in funny poses.

Capcom was holding a tournament to one of the best fighting games ever, Super Street Fighter II.  We watched the final rounds and man those guys were hellllla good.  It's fun watching people who are good at video games.  This clogged the halls as well.  But who cares, we wanna see some ass-kicking!  Haaddoooookken!!!

Some props at Artbox that will be going into trading cards.  I love prop/costume cards and I think its wonderful that companies like Artbox can get a hold of real props and give them to fans.
