SDCC '07 Toys
Comic-con is all about advertising and announcing upcoming releases. It is also the best place to find out what is hip and cool in the art world. Designer toys are a favorite for me, but just about everything there is awesome. Lets begin a quick summary of what you could find at comic-con!
One of the more popular toys are the paint-your-own versions. There is even a Bart Simpson mold now. This was a large scale version of the toys you can buy.
This display booth showed off the creative power of artists. Each artist took the same figure and created there own unique Bart. I may have to pick one up and make my own. Sorry, customs aren't for sale.
Another example of create your own figure. This shark was awesome. Here you can see what the figure looks like when you first buy it. Let your imagination go wild!
Who doesn't like someone with a square head? Kinda looks like Tofu.
Mongers. These guys are cool. I personally like the poop smoking the cigarette. These are trading figures, so you won't know which one you get when you buy the box.
Now this is Smokey. Limited to 300 and sold out. This guy was over 1 foot tall. Remember, smoking is bad.
Goomba's are finally learning. Goomba's disguised as mushrooms! Love the design. I want one of these...
I don't know what these are. In fact, they freak me out. I don't even know why I took pictures of these.... Scary...
What the heck!? Cute? Ugly? I have no idea.
Long live Squaresoft. Final Fantasy VII will always be one of my favorite stories. This Sephiroth was huge and had incredible detail.
Just when I thought I was done buying FFVII figures. Now they came out with super detail video game versions! Man!!!
Check out Tifa and Aeris. It's going to be so hard to avoid buying these....
Life-size judge helmet from FFXII. I forget which Judge this belongs too. Pretty awesome detail.
Beautiful reproduction of a Spider-man cover. If I had the money to invest in stuff like this...
Super cool armor in a super cool pose. Not to mention blue is my favorite color...
Life-size ray gun. Really expensive but damn it looks good up close. If ray guns were real, this is what they would look like.
These guys always have the most ridiculous looking merchandise. Extremely realistic and uncanny likeness. Aragorn looks kinda funny though.
The Predator will never stop being made. He just looks too cool.
Oh man, this was a beautiful model from Master Replicas. Now if they made one of the Enterprise D or the Millennium Falcon...
Oh snap! The Millenium Falcon!!! Look at these pictures and weep. This model was the most beautiful thing I've seen in a while.
If I had money, this would be mine in a heartbeat.

These were weird. Apparently its a sport. These are wrestlers made from paper. Each one has a unique name and even unique signature moves.
This is a close up of one. One guy controls two of these in a ring and they fight it out. People got pretty rowdy over these things. Crazy japanese...
